Not to sound too pretentious, but I think while I paint. This work embodies a meditation on adversity and growth, and how as observers we can only appreciate the beauty at the end of the journey, while having only an abstract understanding of all the hard work and sludge that we had to get through before reaching the surface. Don't give up - you've only failed if you quit before you get there.
